Vale Chris Ciardi

This week saw the passing of Chris Ciardi, long time Coach at CJSC, most recently of last year's U16G team.

Daughter Madeleine remembers him...

"Dad was a dedicated coach for our concord team for many years. He had a smile on his face at every game, even when the outcome wasn’t what we hoped for. He brought out the best in others; he was always up for a chat, had a joke to tell and was there for every member of the team. Dad was an encouraging, helpful, funny, and kind man and was extremely proud of every player on the team."

Long term partner in crime, Manager Colin, writes...

"Chris loved seeing the drills he practiced on the training pitch being put into action by the girls on game day. He has left a lasting legacy with many of the girls he coached. He was a wonderful man. We will miss him"

As a Coach Chris was always so keen and involved. Every season he was one of the first calling the club, chasing up players to register, checking who had registered and making sure I put every single one of "his girls" in the right team.

Below is how we at the club will remember him, Manager Colin, and the girls lucky enough to play in their team. Every great team is supported and shaped by a Coach and Manager who go the extra mile, and Chris and Colin were the double act you wish every team could have. They signed up each year before most of the girls registered. These girls returned year after year and formed a tight bond. This season will be a little less for Chris' absence.

Much love to Maddie and Sam at this difficult time.
