Meet Aussie Burnley player, Aiden O'Neill, this Thursday 24th May 2018 at 5:30pm

Concord Junior Soccer Club has the privilege of having a visit from Aiden O'Neill on Thursday night. Aiden is here in Australia for a quick visit and has taken time to meet our club. Please bring the kids along for a visit.

In the 2016/17 season, Aiden became the second youngest Australian (18yrs 5mths) to play in the English Premier League after Harry Kewell by making his debut off the bench against Liverpool. Aiden came off the bench against Chelsea and Southampton. Aiden was the only Australian who played in The EPL that year. Aiden made 3 premier league appearances.

Aiden's season also included a starting appearance in the EFL Cup against Accrington Stanley and a substitute appearance against Sunderland in the FA Cup for Burnley. In the January 2017 transfer window Aiden secured a loan deal at Oldham Athletic going on to make 12 starting and 3 substitute appearances out of a possible 18. During this loan stint Aiden helped Oldham ensure survival in League 1 despite being in the relegation zone when Aiden arrived at the Club.

In the 2017/18 season Aiden went on loan to Fleetwood Town FC from August 2017 until January 2018 making 27 appearances and scoring his first professional goal.

He returned to Burnley in January 2018, was on the bench for two Premier League games but despite not making an appearance this half the season he trained and travelled with the squad gaining great development.

Aiden was chosen to attend the European training camp in Spain for the Socceroos U23 Australian team in March 2017. Aiden was chosen in the U23 squad for the 2018 Asia Cup and has played in 2 friendly Socceroo games.
