| A mixed weekend for the Black team last week (RD 12 - 26/06/10). With a couple of team changes came some teething problems, but hopefully we can persist and I am sure the kids will be better for it. Some fantastic goals were scored and the kids must be congratulated for their hard work in defense. Well done all round. Thank you to the red team for being good sports. |

Enfield Rovers A (1) |

Thrilling and very evenly matched game with, for me, the Concord boys putting in their best team performance of the season despite missing Julian and James. There was great passing and movement from the team and total commitment in the defensive effort. A little more luck in front of goal could have secured a win.
Concord had much of the early play and Dominic went close with 3 shots before Dean and MOM Luke combined well for Luke to rifle a shot past the Enfield keeper for a deserved lead. Another move shortly after involving the same players resulted in Dean angling a shot narrowly past the post. At the other end, Thomas made a couple of great saves and showed good command of the penalty area. Jordan was busy upfront despite taking a couple of heavy tackles from the opponents.
Second half saw Noah take charge 'between the sticks' and he was responsible for a number of saves, one of which I was sure was destined for the net. Enfield managed an equaliser early in the second half but sterling defensive performances particularly from Jack, Nicholas and Dominic ensured that the game stayed level. Thomas managed to get the ball in the net but unfortunately the goal was ruled out for an earlier infringement.
Thanks to all the parents who helped in the canteen/bbq and for packing up the gear at the end of the game. |

Balmain B (0) |

| The enthusiasm shown last week by the boys was still evident on the field today! Balmain put up a brave fight but all our players were on-song today! Ishaan was away sick but Yannis, Nathan and Angus were all back and raring to go. Yannis may be small but he is incredibly fast - he seemed to be everywhere. Nathan was constantly in the line of fire, turning the ball back against the opposition - probably the best he has played all season. Well done! Angus was outstanding today, singlehandedly running the ball up the length of the field on three occasions. Robbie, Daniel and Joshua were doing everything right - consistent in attacking, kicking and defending! Antonio had nine shots at goal during the match of which he converted two beauties - the second one set up by Hamish with one of his brilliant defensive kicks. It was a great game and we are all excited to do it again next week! |

| How good did our boys do today. It didn't look like the same Five Dock team that we played last time but that was totally due to our boys playing so well. They were all over them! Goal scorers: Adam Scaravilli, Samuel Otton & Samuel McLoughlin. No man of the match as they were all so great. Some good saves from our goalie, Luke McLoughlin who always complains that he will never be man of the match! |

| A close game which was lost in the last 5 minutes by two quick goals. The team played well up until then, keeping the other team at bay and making attackes. Thanks again to the under 12/3's for providing a couple of players and a sterling performance by Sam E. from that team in goals, by putting his body on the line. |
