FIELD SETUP (Dressing)

The first team on each field for each day’s play will need to provide at least 2 adults to set up a field – allow approximately 45 minutes. Council cut the grass & mark the lines, thus field set up entails:

  • Placing the nets straight on the goal posts, then taping and pegging them out securely. Make sure that a ball cannot go through between the net & the ground or post. If using portable goal posts, allow an extra 15 mins to either assemble &/or position and secure these by placing 10 x 30 cm pegs evenly around the bottom rail. Ensure the posts are safe and cannot be moved, even if swung on by a 2 adults;

  • Putting out flags, 4 per field, 1 in each corner, plus 2 more for the main (largest) fields, adjacent to the half way line (approx. 1 metre back from the side line);

  • If on a large field, then you will also need to place small poles and perimeter ropes on the side (two for No. 1 Field & one for No. 2 Field), plus put out the bench seats.

  • Make sure there are no dangerous pot-holes and clear the field of any rubbish or other items.

The storage area for equipment is:
  • Goal nets, bench seats, pegs, tables, chairs & perimeter ropes in the main dressing room.

  • Flags & small yellow rope poles in the small room diagonally opposite the main dressing room;

  • BBQ, Warming ‘oven’, gas bottles, tent awning and related ropes & poles in the main roller door storage room next to the female toilet.

  • Portable goal posts will normally be chained up against the southern light pole or be unassembled in a storage shed (ask the Park Official).

FIELD PACK-UP (Undressing)

The last team playing on a field for the day is responsible for packing up the nets, flags, etc after the game. Remove the gear & place it in the locations outlined above. Advise the Park Official of any missing or damaged equipment. Also place any rubbish in the garbage bins.

TEAM GROUND OFFICIAL

Each team from U6's to Seniors (including AA, Ladies and Premier League) shall appoint at least one person to perform the duties of Team Ground Official for all of that team’s games played at Edwards Park. The position can be alternated between more than one person if preferred.
